ABOUT THE LIFE CENTER

Word of Life was birthed, as the result of a vision given by God to Pastor Michael L. McCoy Sr,. and Pastor Gwendolyn McCoy to minister to those who are lost, broken, and hurting.  The first worship service was held on Sunday, July 21st, 2002. Bishop James H. Morton, and The New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church Family joined in celebrating this momentous occasion.

As the church moved forward, Pastor Michael McCoy appointed 7 Deacons to assist in carrying out the duties of the church, and the Ministry of Christ. Within the First Year of existence, several ministries were also birthed, which included: New Member Orientation, Youth Ministry, Deacon's Ministry, Usher's Ministry, and Men's/Women's Ministries.

As an encouragement to the Youth of our ministry, "The Youth Empowerment Celebration" was initiated in September 2002. During this celebration, we applaud the accomplishments of our Youth, and provided gifts to support them in their continued pursuit of excellence.

In August of 2005, Word of Life moved to a New Worship location Jonesboro, Georgia. Later the church relocated to the City of Riverdale, GA. Through this ministry, many souls have come to Christ. The Lord has tremendously enlarge the impact and territory of this ministry. Through a monthly outreach to feed the homeless, Word of Life has dedicated it’s work to serving the community and becoming a beacon of hope and life for those who are in search.

As a result of obedience to God, after several years of worshipping in a hotel basement, God blessed Word of Life Christian Church with a new home known as “The Life Center” with the vision of this facility becoming the “The Community Life Center” where members of the community can come and receive training and enrichment so that they may receive skills to provide for themselves. Habakkuk 2:2 says: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it". As a Body of Believers, we actively move ahead expectantly and diligently with the Vision in our Hearts, and our Eyes fixed on Jesus Christ.
